8 Amazing Ways Jesus Can Heal Your Life

Aug 3, 2015 | 18 comments

“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.” -Isaiah 53:5

By His stripes, we are healed.

What powerful scripture.

Jesus died so that our lives can be healed!

When we think of Jesus in the context of healing, we often refer to His miraculous cures.

There are many Bible references about His incredible physical deeds.

He made the blind to see, the deaf to hear, and the lame to walk.

He made withered limbs whole again. He cast out demons and made people mentally right again.

And since Jesus Christ is the Resurrection and the Life, He brought the dead back to life.

Just what kind of healer is this Jesus?

He is the healer of humanity, and His healing power is multi-faceted.

Let’s look at what the Bible has to say.

1. Jesus is the Great Physical Healer of the Body

We’ve established that Jesus can physically heal the sick.

But what does it mean, “By His stripes we are healed?” Exactly, what kind of healing miracle is this?

It’s probably the greatest miracle of God’s miracles to us.

It’s the miracle from God to His children who have accepted His Son, Jesus, as Lord and Savior.

It is His gift to us, bought and paid for through the death and resurrection of His Son. Jesus was beaten, scourged and crucified for us.

From it comes another facet of Jesus’ healing power.

2. Jesus is the Great Spiritual Healer of the Soul

Isaiah the great prophet speaks of Jesus as the spiritual healer.

This is backed up by 1 Peter 2:24, which plainly attests to Jesus healing our spiritual lives.

“Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sin, might live for righteousness — by whose stripes you were healed.

What a beautiful testimony to why Jesus took on the form of man to show us the way to the cross.

His sacrificial death, like that of the Passover Lamb, allowed for the forgiveness of our sins.

All who partake in this are “spiritually healed” of their sinful nature.

But Jesus was quick to admonish those He healed to “Go and sin no more.”

3. Jesus is the Great Healer of Relationships

Before Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross, you were dead in your sins. Because of it, you had no relationship with God.

Jesus’ death bridged that gap. God abhors sin. Jesus made you sin-free, restoring your relationship with your Father.

As a child of God, you can cry out “Abba, Father!” and He will hear you.

“For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” (Romans 8:15)

4. Jesus is the Healer of Broken Hearts and a Wounded Spirit

Proverbs 18:14 tells us, “The human spirit can endure in sickness, but a crushed spirit who can bear it?”

Have you ever hit rock bottom? Have you ever felt so low there was no one else to turn to except God?

It’s been said that when we come to “the end of ourselves, we come to the beginning of God in our lives.”

Putting God first puts you on the road to mending that wounded spirit.

“The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit.” (Psalms 34:18)

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalms 147:3)

5. Jesus is the Healer of the Weak

Here are a few reminders of how strong you are in Christ Jesus.

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

“Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” ( 1 John 4:4)

“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” (Phil. 4:13)

6. Jesus is the Healer of Those Who Fear

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” (John 14:27)

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” (2 Tim. 1:7)

7. Jesus is the Healer of the Fatherless, the Orphans, the Widows, and the Lonely.

“I will be a Father to you and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” (2 Corinthians 6:18 & 2 Samuel 7:14)

“A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy habitation.” (Psalms 68:5)

“I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.” (John 14:18)

8. Jesus is the healer of finances.

“And my God shall supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)

“Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:31-33)

The Best For Your Life Through Faith in Jesus

Jesus had a 100 percent healing record.

It was only the lack of faith among the people that prevented Him from healing even more.

Whatever area in your life needs healing, be it spiritual, physical, fear or finances, the first step is to bring it to Jesus.

Lay all these healing issues at the feet of our Great Lord and Savior. Pray to Him with a sincere heart.

I am here to tell you, God’s LOVE knows no bounds, and His mercy endures forever.

Believe and have faith, brothers and sisters. It gives birth to miracles.

Now that i am 80 years of age and have been studying divine healing for 65 of those years, I can only say that we do not always get healing. Just recently I talked with a brother pastor who had led his church in intercessory prayer for sister who had diabetes set up in her leg. Finally the leg had to be removed just above the knee to prevent it from growing further. By now I have visited thousands of sick people and held funerals for many who spent the last days of their life asking for healing. We must be careful not to over promise and to raise people’s expectations beyond reason.

James, thank you for your comment, and yes, I agree, we don’t always get the healing we want. I wrote a column not too long ago based on your concerns here. When God would not heal my brother-in-law, who taught Bible studies, of his cancer I was moved to find out why and came to the conclusion that our loving God heals in many different ways, even if it is not in the ways we expect. And there is God’s perfect healing in heaven. Here is a link to that column https://ccsb3.wpenginepowered.com/blog/different-ways-god-can-heal … as Jesus said many times, have faith and believe.

James, I also want to reply to your last sentence: “We must be careful not to over promise and to raise people’s expectations beyond reason.” How do you quantify that? How do you measure someone’s expectations? What is beyond reason to one may be a 100% measure of faith to another. Why would you limit the heart of God? After all, His thoughts are not our thoughts and He can heal whom He desires to heal. As children of God it is our right to ask for healing. Jesus admonished more than once in the scriptures, “oh yea of little faith.” As for me, I will not put limits on what I believe and trust God is capable of doing. Nor will I place limits on my faith that He can perform miracles today. And I will always have the highest expectations “beyond all man’s reasons” to heal through His love in Christ Jesus.

sometimes healing comes through death, my sister went to be with the LORD on Father’s Day 6/17/12…we prayed for healing, but GOD thought best to take her home. that was the Ultimate Healing! sure, i physically miss her so much and think about her almost everyday but death for Believer’s in CHRIST is not the end but the Beginning because we will be reunited in Heaven.

Exactly, Alex. I went through what you went through with a brother-in-law, who was not healed on Earth, but received God’s perfect healing in Heaven. It taught me that God is good, all the time. We need to have faith and believe. May He bless you and your family, Alex. Thank you for your blog, I really enjoyed it and found it very encouraging and inspiring. I know that the Lord can heal anything if it is within His perfect will for our lives. I am learning that we have to accept God’s will for our lives and believe and trust in Him, for He has our best interest in mind. Sometimes it is thru these trials in our lives that we experience spiritual growth. God is awesome and He will never leave us nor forsake us. God bless!

Jesus is our Great Hope, our Redeemer and Healer. May our faith and belief in our Lord’s love, mercy and power grow in our daily walk with Him. I love the faith of this man in Luke 18:35-43:

Then it happened, as He was coming near Jericho, that a certain blind man sat by the road begging. And hearing a multitude passing by, he asked what it meant. So they told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. And he cried out, saying, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be brought to Him. And when he had come near, He asked him, saying, “What do you want Me to do for you?”

He said, “Lord, that I may receive my sight.”

Then Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight, and followed Him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.

I have been praying desperately to Jesus for healing from so many things that are wrong in my body. I have been prayed for perhaps seven or more times…and nothing has evinced yet. I am desperately seeking for complete restoration. I imagine or actually hear Jesus say to me that He will heal me “in the entirety.” I want to believe that thought.

What can I do to facilitate the healing?
