Reality Check: Do You Really Believe God Can Do Anything?

Oct 27, 2014 | 22 comments

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” – Ephesians 3:20-21

When I was a little girl, I wanted to become an astronaut when I grew up.

When I was a little girl, I wanted to become an astronaut.

I didn’t envision all the steps it would take to become one.

I just envisioned myself jumping around on the moon in a spacesuit.

Because I was so young, I didn’t worry about what it would take to get there.

All I thought about was just the fact that someday I would make that dream come true.

Now at 27 years old, my dreams of sitting in a rocket ship, blasting off into outer space, has become nothing more than a childhood fantasy.

However, this concept of unlimited possibilities has not changed simply because my age has.

When we surrender our lives to Jesus Christ, He’ll accomplish so much more than we ever thought possible, because the possibilities truly are endless with Him at work within us.

Similar to a little child, we are to have faith that our Father will provide everything we need, and that He’ll take us places beyond our wildest dreams.

God will surprise you. God will amaze you. God will completely blow you away.

So make sure that you always dream big!

Do You Know the True Definition of Faith?

The Bible says in Hebrews 11:1,“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.”

God is not a fairytale. He definitely isn’t comparable to a comic book superhero saying “da da daaaa” in spandex tights, although sometimes we’re guilty of comparing Him to one.

That’s because of our lack of faith, we limit our un-limitable God.

It’s so easy to walk by sight, acting, and reacting off of how we’re feeling, or what’s going on around us.  But God calls us to do just the opposite.

God calls us to walk by faith, not by sight.  As Christians, we’re to trust in God completely, even when we can’t visually see the work being done in His almighty hands.

Faith is not something we can muster up ourselves, it’s a gift given to us from God.

Faith comes by hearing God’s Word, and believing His promises will be fulfilled. It’s our hopeful expectation that what God says will happen, will happen, and what He says won’t happen, won’t.

Faith is our confidence that what we hope for will come to pass; that there’ll be a fulfillment of the things which were told to us by the Lord.

Faith is trusting in God even when it doesn’t make any sense, even when we don’t understand.

We are to be moved solely by God’s Word, and not by how we feel, or by what we personally think.

Faith is our hopeful expectation that one day we’ll be in heaven, and that one day all our tears will be wiped away!

There is God’s bright shining light at the end of your trial, so if you’re going through a storm right now, don’t give up!

Trust in God now more than ever knowing that God has brought you to it, to get you through it!

He will complete the good work He began in you.

The truth is, “With God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)

Not some things, ALL things!

So regardless of what season we’re in right now, we do have hope. We can look past the rubbish in this world, the rubbish in our own personal lives, and see God still sitting on His heavenly throne, high and lifted up.

2 Chronicles 20:15 assures us, “The battle is not ours, but God’s.”  With God fighting for our battles, we’ll go from victory to victory every single time.

You Weren’t Created to Go Through Life Alone

As children of God we were not created to handle life all on our own.

When it comes to every single facet of our lives, take comfort in knowing the God who created everything in the entire universe in only 6 days, is mindful of you, and what you’re going through.

He will not leave you to fend for yourself. As you cry out to your Jesus, He will come to your rescue.

As you reach out to your Abba Father, He will reconfirm that He is still there, and has never left you.

God always provides a helping hand when you need it

So when God says He will handle it, without a shadow of a doubt, He will.

We no longer have to step on whoever is in our path to get the job. We no longer have to manipulate and control people to get our way.

We no longer have to worry about absolutely anything!

We now have the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, directing our paths, and enabling us to do all that He wills us to do. We’re no longer relying upon our own resources, abilities, gifts and strengths, but His.

As mere human beings, we fail short time and time again.  But in God’s hands, our lives have purpose, meaning, worth, significance, and a final destination – with Him in heaven.

The Power of Christ Within You

So stay encouraged, for with God, you truly can do all things!

You can love and forgive friends and family members who’ve hurt you. You can stay married to your spouse for better and for worse.

You can raise godly children who fear God and respect you. You can wait for the promises of God to be fulfilled without wavering in your faith.

You can resist temptations.  You can keep pressing forward in the midst of a trial, persecution, or affliction, because one day you’ll see your Jesus face to face!

So if you still have breath in your lungs, then your Heavenly Father is not finished with you yet!

He still has huge plans in store for your life to further His kingdom, and to bring Him glory!

Similar to how He parted the Red Sea through Moses for His chosen people, God will open doors you never even knew existed by making a way when there seems to be no way.

Our God is greater, stronger, and able to do absolutely anything!

The possibilities are endless so let’s choose today to stay hopeful. Let’s choose today to expect the unexpected, and dream bigger dreams!

Let’s choose today, to simply believe. There are no limitations to the wonderful, extraordinary, miraculous things our Almighty God really can do for you and for me.

Amen Amanda, what a great reminder!

Many times I say that I believe that God can do anything, but when I’m faced with an overwhelming circumstance, then I’m faced with a lot of doubts. But what I need to do is just like you say, I just need to trust that my heavenly Father is going to come through for me because He loves me.

      Amen Peter! I agree completely!

God really convicted me about this. I’ll pray for something and then doubt…and start to waver on His promises! lol Oh how I can’t wait until we’re all in heaven! lol But until then, I am praying God makes me a woman of faith! I want nothing more than to take Him wholeheartedly at His word and believe that He can and will do good to us simply because He loves us and has good plans for us!

Thank you for your reply! =] May God continue to bless you and your family!

Thank you so much for your reply Romulo! It just amazes me how much God loves us. He never asks us to do something that He won’t empower and enable us to do.

So when God tells me to take a step of faith, trust Him and believe His promises, I kick myself when i don’t! lol Do you ever struggle with doubt and disbelief?

I’m praying that God gives me more and more faith to trust and obey Him, and go wherever He leads!

Praying He blesses you and your family! =]

YES to this weeks Blog. Our God can do any thing as Pastor Steve Mays has shared. And even tonight with Pastor Dennis in 2 Kings 5:5-14 shared tonight about Na-a-man obeyed God and was Healed. And when Our God ask us a Question our response should be Yes. As in the year 2000 when Our God had asked Walter Sr. “would you give her the wife to Me (God) after going into shock during a blood transfusion. Response was Yes, weeping had called CCSB, Thanks for PRAYERS being answered. And I am sure every thing had stopped for a mountment for PRAYER. As pastor Dennis shared tonight in Matthew 7:7, seek, ask, knock. By time a pastor and his wife came to Harbor City, God had given her back to the husband. Not knowing that ther would be two more times of faith testing to say yes to Our God. THANKS CCSB, <

Hi, I have the following question. In Proverbs 3:5-6, we are instructed to put our trust and confidence solely in the Lord. In my case, I desperately need financial help. 3 months unemployed and 3 months rent due!! Would it be wrong to ask family members for financial for aid? Does this act constitute/indicate a ” mistrust in the Lord? “

Believe it is done and it shall be done. “Pick up your mat and walk!” Brother and Sister…

Jesus didn’t ask, He told most of the people He healed to “heal themselves” and they did because of their Faith…they believed in Him and so should we.
