“You have done many good things for me, Lord, just as you promised.” Psalm 119:65
One thing I love about little children is that they never ever forget a promise you make to them.
It’ll be a couple days later, and sure enough, they remind you about it.
They don’t assume you’re going to let them down or break your promise but many times we do.
Many times we just forget or weren’t planning on keeping that promise anyways, but that child still expects it.
Children don’t expect you to let them down.
They take you at your word and hold you accountable.
So why do we assume God won’t keep His promise?
Why do we allow doubt, fear, anxiety, and worry to rob us of our joy and faith in God?
As mere human beings, we are flawed and not always faithful to our word.
But God is faithful to His, 100% of the time.
When it comes to our relationship with our heavenly Father, we too are called to be like little children.
We too must hold on tightly to the promises He gives us knowing that one day, in His perfect timing, they will come to pass.
God is faithful.
Has He honestly ever let you down?
The Key Ingredient to Making Sure You’re Trusting God Completely
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” – Hebrews 11:1
God has and will continue to do good for you.
God loves you and has your best interest in mind, so don’t get discouraged when things don’t always go the way you want or expect them to.
Faith is the key ingredient you need to ensure you’re trusting God every single step of the way.
Having faith doesn’t mean you name whatever you want and claim it as if it’s already good and yours.
Having faith in God means you trust in His perfect will and praise Him no matter what He gives you or takes away from you.
His Word assures you that “no good thing will He withhold to those of who walk uprightly”! (Psalm 84:11)
In times of doubt and discouragement remember the truth of God’s Word.
And choose to live a life filled with wonder, amazement, and childlike faith!
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us”! (Ephesians 3:20)
God is reliable, faithful, and will keep every single promise He makes to you!
If He has given you a promise, stand on it.
Believe it.
And wait for His perfect timing to receive it!
Listening to the Wrong Voice Can Rob You of God’s Promise
“God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” – Numbers 23:19
It’s not a matter of if God can keep a promise.
The no-brainer answer is He can do anything He wills to do!
It’s a matter of if it truly was God who gave you the promise in the first place.
We all have our opinions, ideas, and imaginations but if they’re contrary to the Word and the will of God, they’re not His truth.
And they’re not God’s promises for you.
The Bible says:
- You need to be as wise as a serpent (Mark 10:16)
- You need to be on your guard, standing firm in the faith (1 Corinthians 16:13-14)
- You need to put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:11)
Why?
Because a huge problem arises when you’re not sure whose voice it is you’re listening to!
You may know that God Himself will never lie to you.
He tells it like it is according to His Word.
God gives you the whole truth and nothing but the truth!
But the devil is the father of lies!
And His main agenda is to try and deceive you!
If he’s able to deceive you, your life will be caught in the enemy’s downward spiral of this deception.
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.” – Galatians 6:7-8
Did you know that the deeper you fall into sin by:
- giving into temptations
- believing the lies of the enemy
- choosing to follow popular opinion instead of God’s Word
- choosing your will instead of God’s will
- and doubting God’s faithfulness…can actually make you miss out on all the promises God has personalized just for you?
God’s Ultimate Promise is the Promised Land – Will You Enter In?
“This truth gives them confidence that they have eternal life, which God—who does not lie—promised them before the world began.” – Titus 1:2
Sin is one thing God hates, but He does not hate the sinner.
He loves you so much and wants only what’s best for you.
He disciplines you because He loves you and wants you to be in a right standing with Him.
He wants you to be right with Him not only so He can bless you over-abundantly, but also and more importantly so that you will be saved!
[bctt tweet=”God gave you His Word not to condemn you, but to save you!” username=”ccsouthbay”]
To save you from the negative and eternal consequences sin in your life brings.
So you can come to a saving knowledge of Him and know His truth…
His truth that will without a shadow of a doubt set you free for all eternity.
“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” – John 8:32
So that you will one day enter into His most precious promise for your life – His promised land.
Would you like complete assurance that if you died today, if you died right now, you’d immediately go to heaven?
God will forgive you of anything you’ve done no matter who you are if you simply ask Him to.
If you would like to either accept Jesus Christ for the first time or make a rededication of your life to Him, come before Him right now through prayer.
Here’s a suggested prayer you can pray.
Remember, God knows your heart, so it doesn’t matter exactly what words you use:
Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I admit I’ve sinned against you. I open the door of my life to you and ask you to come in as my Savior and Lord. Take control of my life. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Make me the kind of person you want me to be. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
If you prayed this prayer, the Bible says as far as the east is from the west, so far have your sins been forgiven you! (see Psalm 103:12)
You now have the promise of salvation!
Meaning, you are now assured eternal life in heaven!
“And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.” John 10:28
Whether God’s promise to you is salvation, provision, protection, answered prayer, or any other promise He’s made to you, know that He truly is faithful!
Choose today to trust in Him with all of your heart by having childlike faith in every single promise He’s made no matter what you feel, think, or see.
Allow your hope always to be in His promises and His love that has set you free.
Wow! Thank you so much! This was VERY Encouraging! Thank you!
