Hola, Calvary Chapel South Bay!
The Costa Rica Mission team is doing well as we are on our eighth day in the beautiful country of Costa Rica!
Yesterday we traveled the nine hour bus drive from Tamarindo to Rio Claro (which turned out to be only eight hours, praise God!). In Tamarindo, the Lord opened many doors for the gospel to be shared with locals and tourists inside the shops and on street corners.
During the day, we came along side Calvary Chapel Villa Real, working on service projects for the community and for the church. Afternoons, the team had lunch with associate pastor Corey, his wife Andrea, and our host Don Victor, who cooked us yummy food after each labor project.
In the evening time, children in the youth group saw the love of God through dances, dramas, puppet shows and balloon sword fights. It was a blast! The team was truly blessed sharing Christ with the kids and being encouraged by the faithful body of CC Villa Real.
We were also blessed by our translators who helped minister to the adults and the children. Along the way, we received special help from our bus driver, Louis, who was a blessing translating and evangelizing with us on the road. Thank you Lord for sending Louis!
Last night, the team ate dinner with Pastor Santiago, his wife Anna, and their son Felipe. He said that there is so much to do at the church! Calvary Chapel San Ramon is blessed with a young intern named Rebecca, but more youth are needed to rise up and share the Word of God.
Right now, the team is getting ready to head out into the community of Rio Claro. Because of the rain, there will be no Vacation Bible School tonight, but another door has been opened to us.
There is another Bible teaching ministry that reaches out to those struggling with drug abuse, and team Costa Rica will be coming along to help them tonight.
Hallelujah to God in the highest!
Prayer Requests
Thank you for your continual prayers and support! Still, there are things that we need prayer for. We’d love it if you would ask the Lord for:
– Team Unity
– Physical Healing, since some of us are sick
– Endurance
– Interpretation
– Discernment
– Peace
Thank you so much for your prayers, we appreciate all of you!!
We’ll be home soon!
Until then,
Pura Vida por Cristo! (pure life for Christ!)
