“O Lord, what a variety of things you have made in wisdom you have made them all. The earth is full of your creatures.” Psalms 104:24
Isn’t it amazing that we can study all forms of creation?
We can study Biology, the study of life.
We can study Geology, the study of the earth.
We can also study astronomy, the study of stars, and botany the study of botanical plants.
There is so much we can study in our vast universe!
God created a diversity of things, from an oak tree to a bonsai tree, from a mountain to a tiny snowflake.
When we start to consider the beautiful differences in the universe we then begin to see how great our Creator is.
God’s beautiful creation inspires us to praise Him and to find pleasure in those who appreciate His creation.
“O Lord, how manifold are thy works!
In wisdom has thou made them all;
the earth is full of thy creatures.”
Psalms 104: 24
If we stop and look around, God’s fingerprints are all around us.
For example, diatoms are micro-algae and can be found in river water.
There are 10,000 known species of diatoms!
In a tablespoon of lake water there may be a million of these tiny invisible plants, and what is their purpose?
Their microscopic beauty creates oxygen so that animals in the water can breathe!
Have you ever stopped to think why God created enormous sea creatures?
Did He create them just to swim and occupy space in the ocean where no man can see?
He created them for His glory and to be part of a perfect ecosystem.
God rejoices in the works of His creation because it reveals His majestic power.
The psalmist was amazed how the Lord created everything to work together.
“He causes the grass to grow for the cattle,
And vegetation for the service of man,
That he may bring forth food from the earth.”
Psalms 104:14
Let the endless and incredible creation be the starting point of your prayer today.
