As soon as you read these words stop what you’re doing and give God a shout out!
This message is too important, the world is too chaotic, the days are too short!
Cutting through all the noise and clutter of this world, all you have left as a believer is your faith and trust in Jesus Christ.
It’s time you got excited about it!
Turn off the TV, put the dishes down, and even pull over to the side of the road for just a minute!
Stop what you’re doing and tell God you’re excited about Him!
Get charged up! Make some noise!
Praise and worship God by giving Him the glory He deserves!
Right where you are.
Right now!
Does God Really Care If You Praise Him?
Why this prompt to give God a shout out?
There are two reasons.
For me and my fellow Jews, the book of Jeremiah is one of the most depressing in the life of Israel.
God tells the prophet to not even pray for His people because He won’t listen.
He freed them from their bondage in Egypt.
He wanted them to be His people and He be their God.
So where did the children of Israel miss the mark?
They chose to reject Him.
They instead chose to turn their back on God by worshiping and coveting foreign gods. They aroused His anger.
Jeremiah 15: 6 puts God’s frustration in perspective:
“You have forsaken Me,” says the Lord, “You have gone backward. Therefore, I will stretch out My hand against you and destroy you; I am weary of relenting!”
How Can You Make A Shout Out To God?
Recently while visiting our son in Henderson, Nevada, we attended a midweek service at Central Christian Church.
It’s a huge congregation and the people there both young and old come to praise and worship Jesus freely, boldly and LOUDLY. They make no apologies for doing it.
The 13-member band of musicians and singers rocks praise songs at about 150 decibels, on par with jet engines revving up for take-off at LAX airport.
Simply put, it’s an unabashed celebration of God.
I want to praise God in spirit and song, be it loudly or softly.
I want to stop what I’m doing and give God a shout out!
Do you?
Do you have a passion for praising God with all that’s within you?
Psalms 118:28-29 emphasizes the need and joy of praise:
“You are my God, and I will praise You;
You are my God, I will exalt You.
Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.”
I am convinced God wants to hear shout-outs from His people.
John 4:23 says, “But the hour is coming, and is now here when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship Him.”
And I say AMEN to that!
Does The Love Of Christ Compel You?
Stop whatever you’re doing right now because God is in the house!
Acknowledge daily that you were dead in your sins until Jesus, the Light of God, reached down and pulled you out of whatever mess you were in.
Stand up wherever you are right now and say,
“God, I am your child and You are my God! I am eternally grateful you sent your Son, Jesus, to die in my place on the cross!”
Look to the sky and say,
“Father, one day I will be up there in heaven with You, but while I am in this earthly body, I won’t ever take You for granted!”
Tell Him,
“Lord, I am so excited my name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life!”
Never take His love for granted!
Let me repeat that.
You must never ever take God’s love for granted!
The Hebrews of Jeremiah’s time did and were decimated!
Do not make the same mistake as them!
Jeremiah warned repeatedly that unless the people returned to God, they and their land would be devastated, but they refused to listen and obey.
“And it shall be, when you show this people all these words, and they say to you, ‘Why has the Lord pronounced all this great disaster against us? Or what is our iniquity? Or what is our sin that we have committed against the Lord our God?’
Then you shall say to them, ‘Because your fathers have forsaken Me,’ says the Lord; ‘they have walked after other gods and have served them and worshiped them, and have forsaken Me and not kept My law.”
– Jeremiah 16:10-11
All the God of Israel wanted, according to Jeremiah, was to be their God and they would be His people.
Instead, they kindled His wrath and would reap the whirlwind.
It was a calamity that could and should have been avoided.
(I pray this fate does not befall you. Notice how America grows colder to God every year?)
They turned their back on God.
And yet God’s mercies rescued them time and time again.
But what if they were to stop whatever they were doing to give a shout out to Yahweh?
What if they were to abandon their foreign gods and return to God?
Yes, He would take them back.
What if they were to daily acknowledge all their blessings given to them by their Creator?
What if they were to say, God, you are my God, there is no other God but You?
Your laws are our laws!
Do you think that maybe, just maybe, God would give them a shout out back?
If You Don’t Have This Then You’ve Got Nothing
Do you have a personal relationship with your Creator?
Are you living in obedience to His Word, or are you still chained down to the ways of this fallen world?
If you are living in sin, you remain separated from God.
It’s time to get right with Him.
Romans 10:9 tells us:
“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
If you don’t know the awesomeness that is Jesus, the Light of the World, and truly want to, here is a sample of a prayer you can make:
“Jesus, I acknowledge that You are Lord, that you died for my sins and I believe in my heart You were raised three days later. I sincerely want to repent of my sins. Jesus, I ask You to be the Lord of my life. Please send the Holy Spirit to dwell within me, to guide my path from this day forward. In Jesus name I pray. – Amen.”
If you prayed a simple prayer of repentance and sincerely meant it, then welcome to the family of God and the promise of eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
And that, my friends, is worth an incredible shout out to the Almighty!
Great passion for Jesus. God bless you brother.
Thank you, Brad. A God who gives us His ALL, is worthy of ALL of our praise 🙂
He who did not spare his own Son, but gave Him up for us all — how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things? (Romans 8:32)

Amen. Amen. And Amen. Give God all the Praise. For his mercy endureth forever.
Indeed, we serve a gracious and merciful God. “For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.”
(Psalms 86:5)

God is so good, He woke us this morning and He didn’t have to. He deserves all our praise!

Interesting you should mention that Tracy. Psalm 3:5 says “I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.” Blessings to you and yours.
