How to Know If You Are Walking By Faith

May 27, 2013 | 0 comments

“Get out!” he told them. “The girl isn’t dead; she’s only asleep.” But the crowd laughed at him.” – Matthew 9:24 (NLT)

A man’s daughter was presumed dead, but he brought Jesus Christ to her bedside, having faith that He would make her well again.

Upon arrival the crowd started laughing at Him, thinking He was crazy to think this little girl could be raised back to life.

However, sure enough, when this little girl was touched by the Lord, she was immediately healed and these men of so little faith witnessed a miracle right before their very eyes.

A Question For You

When it comes to your personal walk with the Lord, which side of this miracle do you stand on?

Many times in our lives we tend to mirror the crowd that chose not to believe that Jesus Christ could do the impossible.

Many times, we unfortunately listen to the lies of the enemy.

We find ourselves doubting the Lord’s faithfulness to fulfill the promises He’s made to us personally, and the promises we’ve read about in His Word.

Instead of walking by faith, brothers and sisters, we tend to believe only what our eyes can visually see.

Choosing To Walk By Faith, Not By Sight

We cannot expect to live a perfect life in this imperfect world, but we can expect our Savior to answer our prayers every time we call upon Him in truth!

Yes, our cars may break down, our children may rebel and run away, our houses may even burn down to the ground, but our God is still good all the time, in every possible way!

Faith is confidence in Him alone, even when we don’t understand.

It is not based on what’s going on around us, how we’re feeling, or what our eyes are seeing.

It is trusting in His sovereignty and aligning our will to His own.

It is believing that He is in full and complete control of every single aspect of our lives, and is more than able to do exceedingly, abundantly more than we could ever ask, hope or think!

Key Takeaway

No matter what you’re going through, praying for, or waiting on, never lose hope.

When things don’t go exactly the way you expect them to, or when God doesn’t answer your prayers exactly when you want Him to, keep trusting in Him completely just the same.

Have faith that if He has brought you to the storm you’re currently in, then He will get you through it.

Have faith that if He has given you a promise, then He will one day fulfill it!

God is on our side, brothers and sisters, so let’s trust in His ability to do the impossible by letting go of our doubt.

Let’s choose to have faith in our Jesus, by no longer laughing at Him along with the crowd.
