The anti-God groups never quit.
And neither should Christians when it comes to protecting their children.
You need to watch out for the After School Satan Club.
It’s gotten a lot of mainstream media coverage from coast to coast.
Its impact thus far is small, but it’s not a joke.
The fact that an After School Satan Club for elementary schools is even being considered underscores three prominent dangers facing society today.
1. Political correctness is detrimental to the country’s moral well-being.
2. The fact that an anti-God group like the Satanic Temple can make any headway against a country founded on Judeo-Christian principles is alarming.
3. The more we turn our back on God, the more evil we face as a people.
So far, there is only one school in the Los Angeles area with an after school satan program.
And that’s Chase Street Elementary in Panorama City. (See the Daily News story.)
If you go to the group’s website www.afterschoolsatan.com they plainly note: “Donate to help us counter-evangelism in schools.”
God is their enemy.
They don’t feel God has any place in schools, even after school lets out.
They see the spreading of the good news as laughable and an affront to children by “scaring them.”
I think satan would agree with their thinking.
You should be scared of hell.
Are We Better Off With Or Without God?
Ask yourself this question:
“Are we or our school systems across the country better off since God was removed from the classroom?”
The answer clearly is NO!
And, the lack of discipline, rise in violence, and dumbing down of education gets worse every semester.
Is our country better or worse off as God is removed from the political and social landscape?
It would take a true optimist to believe America is doing great without God.
The fact is, we are in grave danger of becoming a morally bankrupt nation the more we fail to teach our children about God.
It happened to the Israelites in this telling illustration of Judges 2: 10-11:
“When all that generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who did not know the Lord nor the work which He had done for Israel.”
Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served the Baals;
“And they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt; and they followed other gods from among the gods of the people who were all around them, and they bowed down to them; and they provoked the Lord to anger.”
Superstition or Absolute Truth?
The New York City-based Satanic Temple sees this as a superstition.
They believe teaching their anti-God message, which they call “scientific rationalism,” will free young minds of the burden of having to believe in sin and salvation.
Check out this explanation from Wikipedia:
“The Temple uses the literary satan as metaphor to construct a cultural narrative which promotes pragmatic skepticism, rational reciprocity, personal autonomy, and curiosity. Satan is thus used as a symbol representing “the eternal rebel” against arbitrary authority and social norms.”
That’s appropriate.
Satan rebelled against God and was cast out of heaven.
Whether or not their cloaks and dark imagery are just a sideshow.
The fact remains that their god is satan.
And, it is satan they are truly bowing down to.
Even if they will tell you they don’t promote a “personal satan.”
Really? Then why call yourself the Satanic Temple?
Why sell T-shirts on your website proclaiming HAIL SATAN – 666, with an upside down cross?
Does anyone really believe they don’t promote Satan?
It doesn’t matter what ‘satan’ they promote.
Jesus said, if you are not for me you are against me:
“He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.” – Matthew 12:30
The Ploy to Stop the Good News Club
In a nutshell, the Satanic Temple doesn’t want the Good News Clubs evangelizing children at school.
They say they only want to go into schools that have the Good News Club, as an alternative to “brainwashing.”
Since the evangelical group Liberty Counsel sued to allow a Good News Club in the Cleveland school district, the Satanic Temple seized on their victory and claimed it as their own.
They feel that if a Good News Club is allowed to operate based on religious freedom, then so are they.
From their website:
“We feel that our presence in schools that are burdened with the loathsome stink of the Good News Clubs serves an anti-indoctrination function, illustrating to children that opposing religious perspectives can be held by moral and responsible people who don’t live in fear of divine retribution.”
They take issue with Christian clubs, saying they promote “preoccupation with sin, fear of hell, and aversion to critical thinking.”
Should We Not Fear Hell?
And what is meant by critical thinking?
That man, with his finite mind, knows better than God?
Isaiah 5: 20-21 warns us about this:
“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”
“Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!”
Their “rational thinking” is irrational thinking to those who believe in Christ.
This group is summed up well in 1 Corinthians 1:20:
“Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?”
To believe in God does not mean you are a mindless robot.
It is to have a relationship with our Creator who gives us a peace and a hope for the future. (Jer. 29:11)
It is to be saved by the power and majesty of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
As you can see, nothing has changed in thousands of years.
It’s satan vs. God in yet another form.
Your defense as a Christian?
Put on the Whole Armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
The idea of an After School Satan Program is not as far-fetched as you may think.
