“Serve the Lord with Gladness; come before His presence with singing. Know that the Lord, He is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the Sheep of His Pasture.” – Psalms 100:2-3
Did you know that there is an abundance of joy when serving God?
Did you also know that as Christians, we can also serve God with a sad and unwilling spirit?
God is calling you to serve Him with gladness and with a song of praise.
When you serve the Lord with an unwilling spirit, or with a murmuring and grumbling heart, then you’re not serving Him at all.
God wants us to serve Him with a sincere heart.
In the Book of Joshua, Scripture tells us that we need to serve the Lord in sincerity and truth.
“Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the river in Egypt. Serve the Lord!.” Joshua 24:14
As a believer, there is an abundance of joy that springs forth when you serve others and the Lord.
But to experience that joy and contentment in serving the Lord, we need to praise Him with thanksgiving.
And, recognize what a great privilege it is to be called by God.
Some of you may be waiting to be used by God for the greater and bigger things in life.
But God is waiting to use you for the smaller everyday tasks.
You have an incredible opportunity and privilege.
Every single day, you have a chance to sow seeds into the lives of others, right where you are.
God can take that small seed of kindness and cultivate it so that it can grow into something more.
God is more interested in all the little things you do.
He searches our hearts for love, kindness, patience, forbearance, gentleness, and self-control, which often may never be noticed.
But such spiritual seeds accomplish much greater things in the kingdom of heaven.
“But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” – Galatians 5:22-23
Be encouraged to serve the Lord with gladness.
Know that the little things you do are noticed by your Father who loves you.
Nothing goes unnoticed by Him.
Jesus is the perfect example of what servanthood is.
“Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” – Matthew 20:28
He knew exactly what His Father expected of Him.
When we serve the Lord in the little things with gladness and with a song in our heart, only then will we truly know what joy it is to serve the Lord.
