The One Shortcut You Need to Solve Your Biggest Problems in Life

Apr 6, 2015 | 2 comments

“They found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. So they went in, but they didn’t find the body of the Lord Jesus. As they stood there puzzled, two men suddenly appeared to them, clothed in dazzling robes.

“The women were terrified and bowed with their faces to the ground. Then the men asked, “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead!” – Luke 24:2-6

The men who crucified Jesus Christ did everything they possibly could to keep His body locked inside the tomb.

They rolled a huge stone in front of it, sealed it, and even stationed guards all around it.

But God can’t be overpowered, nor can His will be hindered.

Upon arrival, the women found that the stone was miraculously rolled away, and their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ had risen from the grave.

The Bible says in Revelation 3 that God opens doors that no one can close.

The stone covering the tomb of Jesus Christ can be seen as a symbol of impossibility.

But God in His strength, power, and supernatural ability can move these stones in our lives, and bring what seems hopeless, lifeless or dead, back to life again.

Are There Big Problems in Your Life That Seem Impossible?

Perhaps you were told the illness you have has no cure.

Maybe you’re struggling to pay the bills, find a job, raise your children, or salvage your marriage.

Or, you might have found yourself trapped in the snare of sexual immorality, anger, or some form of addiction that you can’t seem to shake off.

As Christians, regardless of what it is that troubles us in this life, we need to not become stressed out, anxious, or depressed by them.

Just as Jesus promised a victorious life for His disciples 2,000 years ago, we’re promised victory and peace that surpasses all our understanding. (See Phil. 4:6-7)

God alone can do the miracles we’re praying for. He alone can give us the breakthroughs we’re longing for.

He can turn any situation around for good because although things may seem impossible for us, nothing is impossible for God.

The Bible says that Jesus Christ did not come for those who are righteous, but for sinners.

We’re sinners who can’t save ourselves. We’re sinners in need of a Savior.

When Jesus’s disciples asked Him, “Who then can be saved?” He replied, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matt. 19:25-26)

If we could deliver ourselves, provide for ourselves, and somehow get into heaven ourselves, we would have no need for God and His grace, mercy, provision, forgiveness, and salvation.

But as mere human beings, born into sin, we’re in desperate need of Someone greater and stronger than the enemy, and greater and stronger than ourselves.

We’re in desperate need of a Savior, and praise God, we’ve been given One.

Matthew 20:28 says, “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

The death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ demonstrates the extreme lengths our Father in Heaven went to for us.

He did all of this so we can be forgiven of all of our sins, and one day spend all eternity in heaven with Him.

Yes, here on earth there’ll be struggles, let downs, temptations, trials, and difficulties.

Yes as Christians we’re labeled “public enemy number one,” and are enveloped in this wicked and fallen world full of pain, suffering, and addiction.

But one day all of our tears will forever be wiped away. (Rev. 24:1)

One day we’ll see God face to face, and the current hardships we all go through here on earth will fade away. That’s because Satan has been defeated! Death has lost its sting!

Nothing is impossible for those of us who believe because nothing is impossible for the One true God we believe in!

The One Shortcut You Need to Solve Your Problems

Jesus Christ came to this earth for a distinct purpose: to die on the cross in our place. He defeated death and the powers of darkness by rising again on the third day.

Jesus came to give us all hope in this life, and the free gift of salvation for all eternity yet to come.

So what worries, cares, and burdens are you holding on to today? What impossibilities are blocking your way to victory, freedom and a way of escape?

Instead of taking the hard road and worrying about your problems, take the shortcut and leave them at Jesus’s feet.

Tell God exactly what you need, thank Him for what’s He’s done, and then trust Him to work it all out according to His perfect will for your life.

No matter what stones of impossibility are standing in your way, never forget that your God is greater, stronger, and able to roll each one of those stones away!

“The ground began to shake
The stone was rolled away
His perfect love could not be overcome
Now death where is your sting
Our resurrected King has rendered you defeated
Forever, He is glorified
Forever, He is lifted high
Forever, He is risen
He is alive
He is alive….” – Kari Jobe – Forever

Amanda, thank you for the great reminder in Matthew 20:28: “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” I shudder to think where I would be in life without the sacrifice of Jesus.
