Here’s What to Do When You Feel Trapped

“But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.” – Exodus 14:13-14

I want you to picture yourself standing in front of the ocean.

Running full speed behind you are the world’s most wanted criminals carrying axes, guns, and other weapons.

What do you do? What thoughts immediately come to mind and start racing through your head?

In front of you is one seemingly dead-end, and behind you is another. You start to feel trapped, as if you have no place else to go.

This is exactly how the Israelites felt at this point in time on their way to the Promised Land. In front of them was the Red Sea and behind them were Pharaoh and his army, eager to take them back into captivity.

All hope may have seemed lost, but things were not what they appeared to be.

Just in the nick of time, God parted the Red Sea. He provided His chosen people with a way of escape and they crossed over on the dry land, safely to the other side.

Do You Feel Trapped?

Sometimes we can feel so trapped in our circumstances, as if we’re at a dead-end having nowhere else to go. The bills continue to pile up, the kids continue to rebel and you’re still waiting for your prayer to be answered from the Lord.

As Christians, our God goes before us! He makes all our crooked paths straight and would never lead us to a dead-end. He will never allow us to be completely trapped.

God may allow us to reach a wall, but will always provide a way for us to go through it.

The Lord your God will never allow you to be overtaken by the enemy brothers and sisters.

You may be tested, but you will not be destroyed. You may be bent, but you will not break.

Circumstances or situations may make you feel trapped, as if you’re completely surrounded, but please know your God promises to rescue you.

He is willing and able to do the impossible in your life, so never feel like you have no where else to go.

No weapon formed against you will prevail because God is your shield of protection!

We are to run to our Savior when our hearts are overwhelmed.

We are to cry out to our Jesus when the cares and concerns of this life stress us out and weigh us down.

God’s miracles are not predictable, brothers and sisters.

They cannot be planned, rationalized or done by our own hands. God Almighty works in mysterious ways far above our ways.

As Christians, we are to walk by faith not by sight, trusting and believing that our God is in control.

He is in control of everything we’re going through and will come with vengeance! With divine retribution He will come to save His beloved, so take heart and don’t be afraid.

God will make a way when there seems to be no way so stand firm brothers and sisters! Stay calm, and look for God’s open door of escape.
